At the Museo d’Arte della città di Ravenna, in the Arts&New Media Room, Spazio Neutro returns with its first project of 2026: Rifugio plastico. Abitare il confine by Francesca Pasquali, curated by Giorgia Salerno.
The Bologna-based artist reflects on the concept of dwelling. The home is not seen as something fixed, but as a space that evolves over time. It can be welcoming and protective, but also unstable or temporary. At times it is far from our cultural roots, yet it continues to hold memories, thoughts, and identity.
The works on display resemble large cocoons transformed into shelters. They create an unusual environment within the museum—an artificial and evocative landscape.
In this space, visitors are invited to actively participate: they can enter the installations, pause, sit, and cross a threshold. The experience becomes personal and direct.
The materials used by the artist, typically associated with industrial contexts, are transformed here to create imaginary shelters. In this way, the home becomes the place we choose to inhabit and, ultimately, what represents us: we are, in a sense, what we inhabit.
