Art to be experienced
At MAR, art is not just something to be looked at: it is to be discovered, experienced and shared. The Educational Services guide children, young people, adults, schools, teachers and educational staff in exploring the museum, its collections and exhibitions through guided tours, workshops and creative activities.
The aim is to make the museum an open and welcoming place, where everyone can engage with art in a simple and engaging way, fostering curiosity, imagination and new ways of looking at the world.
From September 2026, this programme will be enhanced by the Atelier delle Idee, a space dedicated to creativity and participation, featuring a themed library, tools and materials for experimenting and exploring all aspects of art through hands-on activities. The focus on accessibility – with multi-sensory materials, accessible books and tactile reproductions – makes the experience more inclusive and open to everyone.
With MAR in Valigia, on the other hand, it is the museum that sets off on a journey: activities, stories and sensory stimuli are brought to local communities, reaching out to those who are unable to visit the MAR in person.
Both inside and outside the museum, the MAR’s Educational Services aim to create opportunities for connection, discovery and participation, so that art can truly be an experience for everyone.
