Film director and video artist Yuri Ancarani meets the public for a presentation dedicated to audiovisual language and storytelling through images. During the event, his short film Il Capo (2010, 15’) will be screened — a work that marked his debut and was first presented at the Venice Film Festival.
Ancarani is among the most significant voices in contemporary moving image art. His works have been featured at major international festivals and institutions — including the Venice Biennale, MoMA, Hammer Museum, Kunsthalle Basel, Castello di Rivoli, and PAC Milano — and in 2017 he was listed by The New York Times among the emerging directors to watch.
Admission is free, subject to availability.
The presentation is part of the program Scuola elementare di fotografia 25–26, a free educational course for young people aged 14 to 35 who live or study in Ravenna. The project, conceived by Osservatorio Fotografico APS in collaboration with the Department of Youth Policies of the City of Ravenna, offers meetings, lectures, and workshops focused on photography and its intersections with other art forms, particularly writing.
