The MAR presents itself as a space of sociality and access to knowledge for all, promoting the breakdown of physical, cultural and social barriers with the aim of educating about heritage. The interventions dedicated to accessibility are entirely carried out with PNRR funds
Physical barriers: all floors of the museum are accessible for people with physical disabilities. An elevator (floors 0-2) and two ramps (cloister-gardens) are avalaible. The narrowest passage is 90 cm. The museum provides a wheelchair for its users, which can be requested freely at the ticket office.
The MAR is included in the project “In Emilia-Romagna c’è una vacanza per me” aims to promote accessible tourism in the tourist-seaside district of Emilia-Romagna, improving the capacity of the coastal municipalities to welcome tourists with special needs and their families. Learn more
Sensory and cognitive barriers: maps and tactile aids as well as multimedia guides in LIS are available within the MIX – Museum Interaction Experience app. Furthermore, MAR provides specific courses and workshops, created on request to satisfy special needs. For further information and to organize a special visit itinerary, call or send an email to giuliatubertini@comune.ravenna.it
Pets: Service dogs for disabled people are always allowed. For reasons related to the safety of the preserved heritage, in addition to service dogs, only small animals are allowed (held in the arms or in a special carrier).
