Coconino FEST returns to Ravenna, the festival dedicated to author-driven comics. For five days, the city hosts exhibitions, talks, performances and events that bring comics into dialogue with music, theatre and the visual arts.
At the heart of the festival is the MAR – Museum of Art of the City of Ravenna, featuring exhibitions by David Prudhomme, Olivier Schrauwen, Luz, Miguel Vila and Yamamoto Miki. At the Classense Library, a show by Mazen Kerbaj is on display, focusing on the tragedy in Gaza.
The programme also includes meetings with Italian and international artists, as well as two special events: Vinicio Capossela in conversation with David Prudhomme on rebetiko music, and Paolo Fresu with Paolo Parisi paying tribute to Miles Davis through a performance that blends music and drawing.
New for 2026 is the Coconino Spring School, a week of workshops and classes for young cartoonists and illustrators, supported by the Fondazione Cassa di Risparmio di Ravenna.
The theme of this edition is “Rebels”: stories and images about freedom, rights and resistance, inviting reflection on the present.
