The catalogue Ancient Mosaics of Ravenna – The Collection of Copies, edited by Maria Grazia Marini and published by Edizioni del Girasole, was produced on the occasion of the exhibition held from 15 July to 5 September 2025 at the Italian Cultural Institute in London.
The volume presents and enhances the extraordinary collection of copies of Ravenna’s ancient mosaics—a heritage that, since the 1950s, has played a crucial role in promoting the city’s mosaic art and its tradition worldwide.
The presentation of the catalogue features contributions by Maria Grazia Marini, Head of the Tourism Office of the Municipality of Ravenna; Maria Cristina Carile, a Byzantinist specializing in art and archaeology; Valentina Cimatti, author of the text on the origins of the first exhibition of the mosaic copies; and Alessandra Bollini, author of the descriptive entries on the works and monuments.
