We inform that, in compliance with Prime Ministerial Decree of 14 January 2021 and the Order of the Minister of Health of 19 February 2021, from 22 February 2021 and as long as the Emilia-Romagna Region remains in the orange zone, the exhibition will remain closed, subject to further government provisions.
From 11 September 2020 to 17 July 2021, the Classense Library inaugurates Inclusa est flamma. Ravenna 1921: the Six-hundredth anniversary of Dante’s death, an exhibition to recall the celebration that took place in Ravenna between 1920 and 1921 on the occasion of the 6th centenary of the poet’s death, when the city became the international capital of Dante’s ‘worship’.
Books, billboards, photos, paintings, manuscripts and many other objects of art donated as an homage to Dante and to the city, his last refuge, also will be exhibited at the library, in addition to the poster of the 6th centenary realised by the artist Galileo Chini, and the famous bags containing laurel leaves, decorated by Adolfo De Carolis, that Gabriele D’Annunzio placed as a homage on Dante’s grave.
This exhibit is curated by Benedetto Gugliotta, responsible for the enhancement of the Classense Library.
