  • MAR - Sala Martini

MAR is hosting the presentation of Lisa Bentini’s debut novel, Cose che nessuno vede (Things Nobody Sees). The author will be in conversation with Chiara Lagani, offering the audience the opportunity to explore the themes of the book and learn more about Bentini’s writing.

The novel recounts personal and family memories, love for a dog and the mystery of ever-present pain. Two absences mark the story: Beverly, the dog who accompanied the author for years, and the Bambina, the aunt who died at the age of nine in the summer of 1969, at the same time that man set foot on the moon.

A literature teacher and contributor to il Manifesto and the blog of the publishing house Topipittori, Lisa Bentini intertwines past and present, family photographs and everyday gestures, seeking a language to recount loss with delicacy and depth, between reality and symbolism.

The meeting with Chiara Lagani will explore the themes of the book, the author’s creative process and the value of contemporary Italian fiction.
