Rebellious gazes: female artists between silence and revolution

On the occasion of International Women’s Day, the MAR – Museo d’Arte of Ravenna presents a special event combining music and art.

Students from the Conservatorio Statale “Giuseppe Verdi” of Ravenna will perform a classical music concert, offering the audience a memorable musical experience.

After the concert, MAR curator Giorgia Salerno will lead a special guided tour focused on women artists. The itinerary will highlight four figures who left their mark on art history: Barbara Longhi, Dadamaino, Titina Maselli, and Carla Accardi.

The tour will span works from the 16th century to contemporary art, creating a dialogue between different experiences and artistic languages. It will be an opportunity to reflect on the role of women in art, from imposed silences and delayed recognition to decisive innovative contributions.

A unique occasion to celebrate women through live music and a guided visit, featuring the young talents of the Verdi Institute and the expert guidance of the museum staff.
