to explore the meaning and importance of Albeto Burri's work "Nero e Oro"

Meeting with Bruno Corà

  • 10 May 2025
  • MAR - Sala A. Martini

Following the success of the BURRIRAVENNAORO exhibition on the occasion of the VIII Contemporary Mosaic Biennial, the work Nero e Oro (1993) by Alberto Burri, one of the great masters of the twentieth century, joins the MAR collections. The work comes from the Fondazione Palazzo Albizzini Collezione Burri and belongs to a cycle inspired by the Bisanzio series (1991), linked to the artist’s deep connection with Ravenna and its Byzantine heritage.
This work marks a symbolic return of Burri’s art to the places that inspired it, strengthening the link between his vision and the city’s artistic heritage. An addition that strengthens the identity of the MAR as a space of dialogue between past and present.

Bruno Corà, President of the Fondazione Palazzo Albizzini, will explore the meaning, importance and value of this work.
