On October 17th 2026, on the occasion of the Notte d’Oro at MAR, MAGMA presents Colin Self, an American artist, composer, and puppeteer living and working between Brooklyn and Berlin. Their practice weaves liturgical chorality with performative theatricality, composing a vocal fabric that shifts between the harmonic and the dissonant, the controlled and the aleatoric.
The evening will move through a catalog spanning their last three records — Elation, Siblings, and r&L4nGc; — with stage costumes created in collaboration with Vincent Tiley. A concert that becomes a ritual device: a temporary system for putting the assembled community in relation with what exceeds the living, in a continuous passage between the living and the deceased.
Opening and extending the evening will be a dj set, stretching out the atmosphere of the performance.
