The CRE – RavennAntica Summer Camps – are back again this year; the summer activities will be held at the Museo Classis Ravenna and at the MAR – Museo d’Arte della città di Ravenna.
Every week, from Monday to Friday, from 15 June to 11 September 2026, the Classis and the MAR are offering fun, entertaining and educational summer activities designed to introduce children to artistic techniques, history, archaeology and mosaics, with a focus on active participation and stimulating creativity.
Registration will open on Tuesday 31 March 2026.
Both CREs, aimed at children aged 6 to 13, are structured in the same way: each day, themed workshops (clay, mosaics, archaeology, graphic design, colour and recycling) will be held, each with a different focus.
In addition to the workshops, there will be sessions of guided outdoor play. Both indoors and outdoors, the children will have a dedicated space in which to carry out their activities, together with the museum educators. For outdoor activities, the Classis will use the museum’s grounds, whilst the MAR will make use of the nearby Public Gardens.
New this summer at the Classis Museum: thanks to a partnership with Happy English School, the Cre will be enhanced with an afternoon English course entitled ‘Around the World’.
A special journey: four weeks exploring the world (from 15 June to 10 July), learning English in a natural, fun and engaging way. Each week will be dedicated to a different English-speaking country, allowing children to discover its culture, nature, animals, traditions and interesting facts through creative and multi-sensory activities. The countries chosen are: the United Kingdom, the United States, Australia and Ireland.
The daily afternoon workshop, lasting a total of 2 hours, will follow a consistent structure designed to help children become familiar with the English language.
A typical day:
from 8.15 am a welcome at the MAR and the Classis Museum;
after arrival, socialising, a short workshop, outdoor play and a snack;
from 11 am the day’s themed workshop and guided game;
1.00–2.00 pm packed lunch and parents collecting their children (for those not staying for the afternoon extension programme);
2.00–4.00 pm from 15 June to 10 July at the Classis Museum: ‘Around the World’ with the teachers from Happy English School.
