[vc_row css=”.vc_custom_1713856925769{margin-bottom: 30px !important;}”][vc_column][vc_single_image image=”1491″ img_size=”full” alignment=”center” css=””][\/vc_column][vc_column][vc_column_text]The collection of the MAR, the Museum of the City of Ravenna, is originally the seat of the sixteenth-century monastery of Santa Maria in Porto. It is made up of a wide nucleus of works that derives in a large part from the religious corporations\u2019 suppressions of the territory. In particular, several paintings come from the monastery of Classe of the City of Ravenna, which was suppressed in 1797 and whose properties went to the city hall.<\/span><\/p>\n

From <\/span>Compianto su Cristo deposto dalla croce<\/span><\/i>\u00a0OG Giorgio Vasari, the major exponent\u00a0 of the sixteenth-century art historiography\u00a0 to the altarpiece with the <\/span>Madonna in trono con il Bambino tra i Santi Girolamo e Caterina d\u2019Alessandria<\/span><\/i>\u00a0of Nicol\u00f2 Rondinelli, <\/span>Lo sposalizio mistico di Santa Caterina e i Santi Sebastiano, Girolamo,<\/span><\/i> Rocco e Benedetto\u00a0<\/span><\/i>of Luca Longhi through the main active painters between the end of the 400 and 500 until the weel-known <\/span>sepulchral slab<\/span><\/i> of\u00a0 Guidarello Guidarelli<\/span><\/i>, a leader from Ravenna who lost his life in mysterious circumstances.\u00a0 The works exposed here, mainly of devotional nature, represent an historic-artistic testimony of Emilia Romagna from the end of 300 to the all 600.<\/span><\/p>\n
