MAR hosts the presentation of the book Genius and Art \u2013 The Case of Edvard Munch<\/em>, dedicated to Edvard Munch<\/span><\/span><\/strong>, one of the leading figures of modern European art.<\/p>\n

The book begins with a simple question: is there really a link between genius and madness? The author, Giovanni De Plato<\/span><\/span><\/strong>, explores this topic through a multidisciplinary approach. He examines how, over time, many artists have been interpreted through the lens of mental illness and encourages readers to move beyond stereotypes and prejudice.<\/p>\n

After previous studies on Vincent van Gogh<\/span><\/span><\/strong> and Caravaggio<\/span><\/span><\/strong>, De Plato offers a new reflection on Munch. His aim is to restore autonomy to the concept of genius and to recognize art as a cultural expression, rather than a mere consequence of psychological distress.<\/p>\n

Written in a clear and engaging style, the book invites readers to reflect on the relationship between mind and body and on the importance of approaching art without prejudice.<\/p>\n
